The end of hotel miniatures: why, and what Europe gains

From 2030, small single-use hotel bottles disappear from the European Union. We chose never to make them.
The EU packaging regulation, in force since 11 February 2025, bans from 2030 single-use packaging for toiletries intended for a single stay in hospitality: the famous miniatures under 50 ml.
Its purpose is simple: each European produces about 180 kg of packaging waste a year, and the figure was rising. The regulation sets a reduction per person of 5% by 2030, 10% by 2035 and 15% by 2040 compared with 2018, and requires all packaging to be recyclable by 2030.
The Commission estimates that these measures as a whole will cut packaging waste by about 37% compared with a no-action scenario, and greenhouse gas emissions by about 23 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent a year by 2030, roughly the annual emissions of a country like Croatia.
Our answer is the 300 ml bottle, filled and sealed in France, designed to be recycled, and the same at the hotel and at home.
